The heritage of Caroline Abigail Coburn is 100% Yankee. Her family lines can be traced back to the original immigrant families who arrived during the “Great Migration” of settlers from England to Massachusetts in the period from 1630 to 1640. 

Early on descendents of these original Yankee family lines starting migrating westward. They followed what is called the “Yankee Migration Route” from Massachusetts up into New York and New England and then across the northern United States into the “old” Northwest and what would become the states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and part of Minnesota.   

From the old Northwest these Yankee families and their descendents continued migrating west and eventually settled in the “new” Northwest of Oregon, Washington and Idaho.
