Alexander McLennan, son of Donald McLennan and Fiona Matherson, married Mary Matheson, daughter of Alexander Matheson and Christina Livingstone, on March 7, 1833 in Plockton, Ross-shire, Scotland. In 1852 they sailed to Australia on the William Nichol and settled in New South Wales to raise their thirteen children.
