John Clark Seyller

1-John Clark Seyller, son of Lovina Dorothea Wolf and Edward John Seyller, was born on 7 May 1903 in Yorktown, Henry, Illinois, died on 1 Oct 1990 in Whiteside County, Illinois at age 87 and was buried in Hooppole Cemetery. 

John married Irene Evelyn Walters, daughter of William Walters and Edna Blumhoff, on 25 Mar 1931. Irene was born on 5 Nov 1910 in Hopkins Township, Illinois, died on 12 Sep 2001 in Sterling, Whiteside, Illinois at age 90 and was buried in Hooppole Cemetery. They had two children: Una Mae and Edward W.

2-Una Mae Seyller was born on 27 Dec 1931 in Yorktown, Henry, Illinois.. 

Una married Stanley Earl Moews, son of Frank Moews and Anna Pletsch,  on 8 Apr 1951 in Henry County, Illinois. Stanley was born on 29 Aug 1926 in Prophetstown, Whiteside, Illinois, died on 27 Sept 2007 and was buried in Riverside Cemetery. They had three children: Rhonda Lee, Jacqueline Ann, and Margo Irene. They were divorced.

Una next married Arthur Lee Kromrey, son of Arthur C Kromrey and Florence Moore, on 31 Jan 1969 in Prophetstown, Whiteside, Illinois. Arthur was born on 18 Mar 1927 in Morrison, Whiteside, Illinois and died on 7 Jun 2001 in Prophetstown, Whiteside, Illinois at age 74.

2-Edward W Seyller was born on 14 Aug 1933 in Yorktown, Henry, Illinois, died on 10 Mar 2012 in Sterling, Whiteside, Illinois at age 78, and was buried in Hooppole Cemetery. 

Edward married Mary Jean Mulcahey, daughter of James Mulcahey and Dorothy Manchion, Mary was born on 9 Jan 1931 in Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois, died on 2 June 2018 in East Moline, Rock Island, Illinois at age 87 and was buried in Hooppole Cemetery. They were divorced. They had two children: Steven Clark and Mark.

Edward next married (Claire) Wilma Hamer, daughter of William Mark Hamer and Julia Nowers, on 20 Nov 1972 in Peoria, Tazewell, Illinois. Claire was born on 21 Nov 1926 in Hooppole, Henry, Illinois, died on 20 Feb 2008 in Hooppole Cemetery at age 81 and was buried in Hooppole Cemetery.

Biography

John Clark Seyller was born on 7 May 1903 in Yorktown, Henry, Illinois to Edward John Seyller and Lovina Dorothea Wolf Seyller. He was the youngest of his parent's two sons. His brother, Conrad, was born on 8 February 1901. He was raised on his parents farm outside of Hooppole. . He was a graduate of the 33rd Division of Aeronautics School in Chicago. After graduating John Clark operated Mendota Municipal Airport where he was a flight instructor and a dealer for the Velie Monocoupe airplane which was manufactured in Moline from 1927 to 1929. After his father's death in 1929 he returned to the family farm where he farmed for over 59 years. In addition to farming, John Clark served several years as director of the Stowell School District and many years as Drainage Commissioner. John Clark married Irene Evelyn Walters, daughter of William Walters and Edna Blumhoff, on 25 Mar 1931. They had two children: Una born in 1931 and Edward W born in 1933. In their later years John Clark and Irene moved to Whiteside County to live by their children. John Clark died on 1 Oct 1990 in Whiteside County, Illinois at age 87 and Irene died on 12 Sep 2001 in Sterling, Whiteside, Illinois at age 90. They are buried in Hooppole Cemetery.

STERLING - Edward W. Seyller, 78, of rural Prophetstown, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. He was a lifetime farmer in rural Prophetstown and was an Illinois state trooper, serving the Rock Island and Sterling districts, retiring after 25 years of service.
Edward was born Aug. 14, 1933, in rural Yorktown Township, the son of J. Clark and Irene (Walters) Seyller. He graduated from Prophetstown High School, and the Illinois State Police Academy. Ed served his country proudly in the Navy during the Korean War. Ed was united in marriage to Mary Mulchy, and they later divorced. He married Wilma Hamer Arnold on Nov. 20, 1972, in Peoria. She preceded him in death in 2008. He was a member of Hooppole American Legion Post, where he previously served as post commander.
Survivors include two sons, Steve (Deborah) Seyller of Tucson, Ariz., and Mark (Denise) Seyller of Claremore, Okla.; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and a sister, Una Kromrey of Sterling.
He also was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., Friday at Vandemore Funeral Home Ltd, in Atkinson. Burial with military honors accorded by the Hooppole American Legion Post, will be at Hooppole Cemetery.
The Edward Seyller Memorial Fund has been established.
