The 2002 National Self-Advocacy Conference was held in Buffalo, New York and according to the Self-Advocacy Association Of New York State, who hosted the event: "over 1,300 people from 46 states attended the 2002 National Self-Advocacy Conference. What a great event. There were over 64 informative workshops, great entertainment, a fun trip to Niagara Falls, interesting keynotes, and great opportunities to make LOTS of new friends!"
