Ruth married Joseph Polson, son of Frederick Polson and Anna Linder, on 30 Aug 1915 in Scott, Davenport, Iowa.  Joseph was born on 31 Mar 1891 in Princeton, Bureau, Illinois, died in Sept 1966 at age 75 and was buried in Hooppole Cemetery. They had six children: Clifford, Lester Jacob, Dorothy E. L., Roger, Josephine, and Shirley.

2-Clifford Polson was born on 14 Dec 1915 in Hooppole, Henry, Illinois and died on 14 Jan 2004 in Loveland, Larimer, Colorado at age 88. 

Clifford married Oleta K Wolf, daughter of Edward Wolf and Elizabeth J Cruse, in Dec 1941 in Hooppole, Henry, Illinois. Oleta was born on 9 Feb 1914 in Henry County, Illinois and died on 22 Jul 2008 in Masonville, Larimer, Colorado at age 94. They had two children: Clifford (Jr) and Fern Elizabeth (Liz).

3-Clifford (Jr) Polson was born on 5 Jul 1943 in Hooppole, Henry, Illinois and died on 21 Jun 2007 in Loveland, Larimer, Colorado at age 63. 

3-Fern Elizabeth (Liz) Polson was born in 1951 in Hooppole, Henry, Illinois. 

Fern married Eric Alan Eby, son of Eric Edwin Eby and Ila Fern Stone,. Eric was born on 2 Mar 1948 in Tulsa County, Oklahoma and died on 8 May 2006 in Denver, Colorado at age 58.

2-Lester Jacob Polson was born on 28 Mar 1918 in Winnebago County, Illinois and died on 16 Apr 1979 in Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois at age 61. 

2-Dorothy Eloise Loretta Polson was born on 5 January 1922 in Winnebago County, Illinois and died on 28 July 2003 in Bureau County, Illinois.

Dorothy married James S. Yocum on 4 Apr 1942 in Kahoka, Clark, Missouri. James was born on 9 Feb 1916 in Milledgeville, Carroll, Illinois and died on 3 Apr 1997 in Rock Falls, Whiteside, Illinois at age 81.

2-Roger Polson was born on 16 Jul 1925 in Yorktown Township, Henry, Illinois and died on 26 Sep 1993 in Knox County, Illinois at age 68. 

Roger married Edith Marie Gustafson, daughter of Emil Algot Gustafson and Selma Johnson, on 6 Feb 1949. Edith was born on 2 May 1929 in Henry County, Illinois and died on 16 January 2016 in Geneseo, Henry, Illinois.. They had four children: Diane, Dwain, Kristine, and Kevin.

3-Kristine Polson was born on 10 Oct 1955 in Kewanee, Henry, Illinois and died on 7 Apr 2012 in Annawan, Henry, Illinois at age 56. 

Kristine married Rick Hemphill on 21 Jan 1978 in Hooppole, Henry, Illinois. They had three children: Andrea, Darrin, and Bryce.

2-Josephine Polson was born on 18 Sep 1927 in Henry County, Illinois and died on 2 Apr 2001 in Dixon, Lee, Illinois at age 73. 

Josephine married Francis Coers, son of Fred Coers and Myldred McCaslin,. Francis was born on 8 Nov 1921 in Edgerton, Rock, Wisconsin and died on 19 Sep 1981 in Dixon, Lee, Illinois at age 59. They had four children: Mildred, Katherine, David, and Wendy.

Ruth Elizabeth Wolf was born July 4, 1900 on the family farm near Hooppole in Yorktown Township, Henry County, Illinois to Jacob and Jennie Fisher Wolf.  She was educated in area schools.   She was 10 years old when her mother died.   She married Joseph (Joe) Emanuel Polson in Davenport, Iowa on August 30, 1915.  Joe was born March 31, 1891 in Princeton, Illinois to Frederick and Anna Linder Polson.   Ruth and Joe moved to Rockford, Illinois where Joe worked in a furniture factory for a few years.  When they returned from Rockford, Ruth and Joe purchased a farm southwest of Hooppole in Yorktown Township where they farmed and raised their family.   In 1952 they retired from farming and lived for a short while in Tampico, Illinois and then Hooppole.   Ruth and Joe were the parents of Clifford, Lester Jacob, Dorothy Eloise, Roger Leo, Josephine, and Shirley Mae.  Joe died September 7, 1966 in Geneseo, Illinois.  Ruth died March 3, 1977 at Prophetstown Riverview Good Samaritan Home, Prophetstown, Illinois (Whiteside County).  Ruth and Joe were buried in the Hooppole Cemetery.  The 1910 Census listed Ruth living with her parents in Yorktown Township, Henry County, Illinois in the village of Hooppole.  The 1920 Census listed Joe and Ruth living in Rockford, Illinois.  Joe’s occupation was listed as cabinet maker.  The Census records for 1930 and 1940 listed Joe and Ruth living in Yorktown Township.  Joe’s occupation was listed as farmer.  Note:  The farm that Joe and Ruth purchased was one of several farms that Ruth’s parents owned.  The abstract for the farm shows that Jacob and Jennie Wolf purchased the farm in 1899 from John and Ella Miller.  For many years, people in the Hooppole area referred to this farm as the “Trautwein farm” (named after a former owner).  To our knowledge, Jacob and Jennie never lived here.  Ruth and Joe purchased the farm sometime after her father’s death.  Their son, Roger Polson, eventually purchased the farm.    Sources: Miscellaneous family papers
