Robert Wolf Wolever

Robert married Isabel Julia Weir, daughter of Michael Weir and Cora Maude Brayton, on 8 Apr 1921 in Whittemore, Kossuth, Iowa. Isabel was born on 8 Aug 1903 in Whittemore, Kossuth, Iowa, died on 1 Jul 1982 in Sloan, Woodbury, Iowa at age 78 and was buried in Fairview-Albaton Cemetery. They had one son: Francis C. They were divorced.

2-Francis C Wolever Marshall was born on 13 Mar 1921 in Kossuth County, Iowa and died on 25 Aug 2000 in South Sioux City, Dakota, Nebraska at age 79. He took his step-father's last name Marshall after his mother married Jessie Marshall in 1929 and went by the name Bud Marshall.

Robert next married Martha Scheuneman, daughter of Carl Scheunman and Hermina Kadatz, on 24 May 1924 in Waseca County, Minnesota. Martha was born on 30 Apr 1897 in Germany, died on 28 Dec 1969 in Sacramento, Sacramento, California at age 72 and was buried in East Lawn Memorial Park. They had no children.

Robert next married a family friend, Blossom Winona Meltz, daughter of Edward Louis Meltz and Anna Clara Manthe, on 20 Jul 1972 in Reno, Washoe, Nevada. Blossom was born on 11 Aug 1918 in Minnesota, died on 19 Dec 1996 in Placer County, California at age 78 and was buried in The Old Auburn Cemetery in Auburn, Placer, California. Blossom had previously been married twice, once to a Gillespie and then to a Sullivan. Robert and Blossom had no children.

Biography

Robert was born on 1 Nov 1900 in Cornwall in Atkinson Township in Henry County, Illinois to Calvin Franklin Wolever and Margaret (Maggie) Wolf. His parents were both born in Henry County and raised on large family farms there. They also farmed in the area for many years and during that time Robert attended Frog Pond school. His parents were divorced sometime in the early 1920's and his father Calvin moved to Minnesota and his mother Margaret moved to Chicago. Robert married Isabel Weir in Whittemore, Iowa on 8 Apr 1921 in Whittemore, Kossuth, Iowa. The marriage took place a month after their son Francis was born. The marriage was a short one and ended in a divorce. Not long after the divorce, Robert moved to Mankato, Minnesota where he married Martha Scheuneman in 1924 and went to work as a mechanic for Holt Motor Company. In 1929 his ex-wife Julia married Jessie Marshall. and Robert's son Francis took his step-father's last name Marshall and eventually went by the name Bud Marshall. Whether or not Francis had much contact with Robert is not known. Robert and Martha moved to Sacramento in 1937 or 1938 and Robert continued to work as a mechanic. He and Martha had no children. Martha died in 1969 and three years later in 1972 Robert married a long time family friend, Blossom Winona Meltz. Blossom had been married twice before. The first marriage was to Thomas B Gillespie and the second was to Elmer A Sullivan. Robert and Blossom lived in the Sacramento suburb in Roseville where Robert died in 1987 and Blossom in 1996. They are buried in The Old Auburn Cemetery in Auburn, Placer County.
