Margaret Thomas and Charles Henry Hatch

1-Margaret Thomas, daughter of William Llewdeth Thomas and Martha Jane Bennett, was born on 5 Apr 1864 in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia and died on 8 Mar 1920 in North Sydney New South Wales, Australia at age 55 from tuberculosis. She is buried in Gore Hill Cemetery: St Leonard's

Margaret had a relationship with an unnamed male when she was 24 which resulted in a son: William Claude Kingsley Thomas. After his mother's marriage to Charles Henry Hatch, William CK was given the last name of Hatch.

2-William Claude Kingsley Hatch was born 26 Nov 1888 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and died on 24 Sep 1952 in New South Wales, Australia at age 64. He did not marry or have children. It is interesting to note that in his World War 1 military record (see Document and Article section) as well as his Find A Grave cemetery record he is known as Basil William CK Hatch but his birth and death certificates show him as William Claude Kingsley Hatch.

Margaret married Charles Henry Hatch, son of Thomas Hatch and Matilda Green, on 14 Apr 1890 in Glen Innes, New South Wales, Australia. Charles was born on 13 Apr 1852 in London, England and died on 17 Jan 1908 in Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia at age 56 due to hear failure. He is buried in the Church of England section of the Dubbo Cemetery in Dubbo. At the time of his marriage to Margaret, Charles was a widower. Charles and Mary Ann had three children: Thomas Henry born in 1884, Charles Henry born in 1886 and Matilda Frances born in 1887. (Matilda later married Margaret's brother William Bennett Thomas). Charles had hired Martha  as a housekeeper and when it turned out she was pregnant they were married. The marriage was probably a good partnership for both of them with Margaret getting Charles' protection and support for herself and her son and Charles getting a mother for his children.
